Journaling Can Affect Your Health!

"In one study, subjects were asked to spend 20 minutes writing intimately to themselves. When researches examined blood samples taken after the fourth day, they found evidence of an "enhanced immune response."                                     What's Your Sabotage? by Alyce Cornyn-Selby

"I can shake off everything if I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn." Diary of Anne Frank

SUPPLIES

The Book: An inexpensive wire bound book from a drug store. There is no need to spend a lot of money. I personally don't like paper with lines as I feel it boxes me in. But that is just me - you choose what fits you best.

Later you may want to invest more money in say a leather bound journal.

The Pen: Most important is to buy a pen you will enjoy writing with. It can be any color you want. You can even use markers or crayons.

Affirmations Help You Achieve Your Dreams!

We all engage in continuous self-conversation about ourselves, other people, and our lives.  This self-talk conversation influences our thinking, feelings, and eventually our behaviors.

Positive affirmations are a powerful way of replacing negative thoughts with positive statements of self-empowerment.

Follow these guidelines to create  positive self-affirmations.

Present Tense ("IAM")
Take a stance and state your conversation in the present tense, as if it already exists

Positive
Use Positive Language.  Do not use words such as no, don't, can't, stop, won't, etc.

Personal
Keep it simple, personal, powerful, and realistic for you. It must resonate within you.

Passion
Say your affirmation with passion - even if it sounds funny.

Write It
Write your affirmations down in your own handwriting on a 3X5 card.

Practice
Repeat your affirmation at least 3 times each day - ten times each.  In other words - I am beautiful, I am beautiful, I am beautiful etc. for 10 times.  Practice for a minimum of 21 continuous days.
